A deep bond is created and together the Service Team can overcome many of the limitations that a disability presents.
Any
individual with a diagnosed physical, psychiatric or
emotional disability qualifies under the Americans With Disabilities
Act of 1990 to have a service animal that is trained to perform a
useful function.
The
breed of the dog is not important, nor is it's background. The
most important quality in a service dog is the bond between human and
dog.
If
you do not already have a dog that you would like to train to be a
service animal, we will help you pick one out of one of the the
local no-kill rescues. Rescue dogs can make great service dogs
because they are often abandoned for having prime working dog
characteristics: focus, sharp mental faculties and a need for a
job.
Given training and guidance most dogs can learn to function in a service capacity. The
average pet can often be transformed into a highly
effective service animal if the family is willing to
institute the structure necessary for success in the program.
The transition from a pet to a service dog is a fascinating
process to watch. It takes a different mentality in
both human and dog to be a Service Team and can often be a
significant part of therapy for many issues.
We
take a novel approach to service dog training that opens up the
opportunity to have a dedicated service animal at your side
from the very beginning of the program.
If
you do not already have a dog you wish to train, we will help you
find a dog that you bond deeply with and place him/her with you on the
first day of training in most cases. There is no long waiting
list and you choose the dog that will be your constant
companion.
We
then work side by side with you and teach you how to train your
service dog. You will learn how your dog thinks, how to teach it
any skill you need for it to perform as well as how to achieve good behavior and performance in public. You
will also never
need to send your service animal away for reinforcement training.
Through our approach training is enhanced and reinforced daily.
We
have created a monthly subscription program that is accessable to the
average individual. A program will take anywhere from 6
to 18 months, depending on the difficulty of skills required for your
specific needs and the family's consistency with training.
Monthly Subscription - $275 per month
Four private sessions per month (average one hour per week) in public locations
Between 6 to 10 hours of group class time per month
Training includes education regarding your access rights under State and Federal law
Advocacy in the event of access issues with your dog.

You
don't have to be incapacitated for a service animal to help you.
Whether it's picking up things you dropped, carrying your things so
that you don't have weight pulling on one side of your body, letting
you know before a seizure or low blood sugar episode occurs or helping
parents manage a developmentally challenged child, service animals can
provide assistance, companionship, and independence for the handler in
a way that nothing else can. Contact us today to find out how a Service
Animal can help you.
